Under 18 and want a tattoo in Reno?
For clients aged 16–17 and their legal guardians: sort out the paperwork, agree on the tattoo, and plan a visit you can both attend.
Check eligibility and documents
Read our age and legal guardian requirements. When you call, tell us your age and that your legal guardian will accompany you. Confirm the paperwork before either of you takes time off:
- Which forms of ID can your guardian bring?
- What identification do you need to bring for yourself?
- What documents are needed to establish guardianship?
Describe the design, size, and placement too. Meeting the age requirement does not tell the artist whether that particular tattoo is workable. Ask whether a consultation or appointment is needed.
Call (775) 622-8831Agree on the design, budget, and visit together
If you are choosing between designs or unsure about placement, say so. You do not need to get tattooed because friends are doing it or because you have reached the minimum age. Waiting is an option.
Discuss the actual wording or image and where it will go with your guardian, not just permission for “a tattoo.” If you are picturing different things, resolve that before asking the artist to draw it. You should be able to explain what you want yourself.
Agree on a budget and who will pay. Read the deposit policy before paying, and ask the artist about the expected appointment length so you can both plan your time.
Already 18, or ready to plan the tattoo itself? The first-tattoo guide covers references, price questions, and checking the stencil.
