Why a collective?

Founder Jay Dee Skinner described the shop as a way to reduce hierarchy between artists and share a working space. Our Town Reno's 2016 profile documented that idea alongside the artists' community garden and meal work at the time.

Jay Dee died in June 2025. Our Town Reno's remembrance describes his tattooing, community organizing, and work with Food Not Bombs Reno.
